How to dye a cotton shirt?
I'm thinking about dying a plain white 100% cotton shirt for my Halloween costume, but as far as I've done research, it is said that this is not possible with food coloring, which is washed. Well, I really not going to recall these shirts anymore that can not be washed after Halloween, so I'd like to know how you dye a cotton shirt with food coloring. Furthermore, how would leave a certain white area (the words)?

Fill sink or bucket with enough hot water for fabric to move freely. Remember: Use a package RIT powder or 1 / 2 bottle of RIT dye and 3 gallons of hot water per pound of fabric. Pre-dissolve powder in 2 cups hot water. Add pre-dissolved powder or liquid to dye bath. Stir to mix. Cloth dipped in hot water. Uncrumple and add the middle of the bathtub. Stir constantly (roundtrip up and down) for 10-30 minutes. Rinse with warm water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear. Wash the item in warm water with mild detergent and rinse well with cold water. Dry item in dryer or air dry. Clean the sink or bucket immediately with chlorine bleach or chlorine-based rub powder, liquid or gel cleanser.
